Peter Hoogenboom and Patricia Hemrich's Trip to Japan

These are just a few of the photos we took on our recent trip to Japan. We left from Portland, Oregon on July 12 and flew to Nagoya. We returned on July 20th.

A photo of the imperial palace grounds. Inside the doors, you can see people grooming the grounds. You might not be able to see it in the photo, but it's pouring rain.

Another photo on the imperial palace grounds. It was interesting that we had to march past the guards to the imperial palace grounds, in lines of four people. The guide was very insistent that we did this. He claimed it was so they could more easily count how many people visited the grounds. I think it was because they liked to see Americans march. :-)

This is a map of Kyoto City that we were given at the beginning of our bus tour. I'm going to make it into an image map. Then, you will be able to click on the general area of places we visited to go to the first of a series of photos that we took at that site.
